Educational Portal
for Mediation in Language Learning
We offer practical resources for secondary school language teachers to help students transfer meaning, connect cultures, and use language confidently in real-life situations. Our portal offers webinars, ready-to-use activities, teaching materials, and a downloadable e-book to support effective classroom instruction.
We address the lack of resources for implementing CEFR-CV Mediation descriptors by providing hands-on tools and guidance. Through our collaborative approach, we foster intercultural competence, civic engagement, and communication skills for teachers and students alike.

Activities
Mediation activities designed for foreign language classrooms at secondary schools cover all three mediation types across the proficiency levels A2-B2 and are available in four languages: English, French, German, and Spanish.

The webinar series consists of four sessions exploring key aspects of mediation. The first webinar introduces mediation as a mode of communication, while the remaining three focus on its main types: mediating texts, mediating concepts, and mediating communication.

Mediating a text, according to CEFR
Welcome to Workshop No. 2 on Mediation in Language Teaching: Mediating a Text! Building on our first session, this workshop takes a closer look at text mediation according to the CEFR Companion Volume (2020). We'll revisit the concept of mediation in the CEFR, explore what text mediation actually means through concrete examples and key features, and examine how it's described and assessed in the CEFR CV. Participants will discover different types of text mediation activities suitable for the language classroom, try out an interactive mediation task themselves, and finish with a guided reflection and discussion on how to bring these activities into their own teaching practice.

Mediation in language teaching: A new skill for 21st-Century Classroom Based on the CEFR Companion Volume (2020)
Welcome to Workshop No. 1 on Mediation in Language Teaching! In this session, we explore how to implement mediation, a crucial 21st-century skill, into your language classroom, based on the CEFR Companion Volume (2020).
